Hi! I’m Sidney Hsu, PsyD, LP.
She | Her | Hers
I earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Chaminade University in 2024. The LP stands for Licensed Psychologist.
Previously, I worked with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. These include community mental health, college counseling, forensic environments, and inpatient care within a local hospital network. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals and families through individual therapy, family therapy, and parenting/co-parenting counseling.
My favorite part of this work
My favorite part of this work is…the opportunity to truly connect with others and build a meaningful therapeutic relationship. I feel honored when clients allow me to walk alongside them and share some of the most vulnerable parts of their lives. That shared space is something I hold as sacred and approach with deep respect.
Speaking of my clients
In particular, I specialize in working with individuals, who:
Are wanting to improve their relationships with others.
Come from a history of family conflict, neglect, or inconsistent caregiving.
Whose circumstances limit their sense of agency, freedom, or voice.
Are healing from painful or traumatic experiences.
Need more guidance on managing behavioral concerns and/or mood symptoms.
I have a special interest in:
Family systems
Coming-of-age challenges and identity development.
Interpersonal conflict and relationship challenges.
Child-rearing and family life.
Individuals who are finding their place between cultures and discovering a sense of identity that feels true to them.
Supporting trauma healing and resilience through nervous system regulation.
Assisting individuals in their journey of self-discovery, including spiritual exploration, self-esteem, and personal growth.
I am passionate about:
A person-centered, collaborative approach rather than expert-based.
Access to resources.
Providing a safe space.
Including laughter in therapy.
Honoring that healing looks different for everyone, and supporting people in discovering what that means for them.
On Personal Note
I am the daughter of an immigrant mother from Taiwan and come from a mixed-heritage background. Growing up, I often felt caught between cultures—never fully seen as Asian, yet not fully accepted as White. That experience made it challenging to find my own place, and it shaped my passion for supporting others as they find a place where they truly feel at home within themselves.
When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring all sorts of YouTube rabbit holes; driving across the Twin Cities to try new foods; drinking too much coffee, watching Anime, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
