Headshot of Lindsey Johnson, a counselor at Collaboration for Psych Wellness

Hi!  I’m Lindsey Johnson MA, LMFT, RPT

She | Her | Hers

I chose the career of being a therapist because I enjoy listening to other people’s stories and being a support to them. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist in 2011.

My favorite part of this work

My favorite part of this work is being able to be a part of your journey. I love to create an environment where you feel safe enough to share who you are including the stuff that you feel shameful about. I enjoy helping you recognize what tools you are not using in your toolbox.

Then we work on learning more about how those tools can be used to help you or how to use tools you didn’t know you had.

I have a special interest in:

  • Couples Therapy: using the tools that I have learned from being trained in Gottman Method Therapy

  • Play Therapy (ages 7-12): I am a Registered Play Therapist; I love using play to communicate with children and teach parents parenting skills in relating to their children, especially negative emotions.

  • Shame Stories: learning to rewrite the narrative around your shame storms. Learning how to stop listening to the voices in your head.

I am passionate about:

  • Traveling to learn about cultures and understanding the differences between cultures. Applying the information about different cultures in my practice to help those I am working with.

  • Helping women understand the importance of self-care and that they don’t have to do everything.

  • Walking alongside people supporting them.

I love to create an environment where you feel safe enough to share who you are.
